This puppet show follows the story of our old generous tree. He gives everything to his beloved friend Xavier, who goes through life wanting, or ‘needing’, more and more help, until finally the tree has nothing left to give. Finally they are both so aged and worn, that they lay together wearily and close their eyes. At this point new trees begin to sprout. A little girl arrives, playing in the forest, and befriends on beautiful little tree.
Our animated, talking tree puppet can open his eyes, let his branches fall to the ground and give away his delicious purple plums. We also use ‘sand bag’ style puppets for the people. Xavier ages from scene to scene, therefore one character has five different puppets to represent his life journey!
All show elements have been hand built by us.
